The "Shanghai QR Code", known as "Suishenma", offers a versatile, one-stop solution for accessing a wide range of services, including healthcare, transportation, and tourism.
The app is available for expats to register and use.
If you hold a Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card or a foreign passport, you can use specific services after registering. Here is how to get a Suishenma.
Real-name authentication
1. Download the app on your mobile phone:
For iOS users, download the "Suishenban" (随申办) app at the App Store; for Android users, download the app via the mobile app store.
2. Open the app and click "Me" at the bottom.
3. To register, click the "Sign up" option on the "English Login" page. Choose the most suitable method to proceed.
4. Ensure the "Privacy Policy" option at the bottom is checked. You will be prompted to proceed once your mobile phone number and verification code are filled in.
5. Fill out your ID information.
6. Real-name authentication:
To register with a Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card, the user may choose to use facial recognition.
To register with a foreign passport, a manual review process of the photo will be conducted. The user may log in and verify the real name authentication information in the special zone for foreigners.
7. Reset your password once the registration has succeeded.
8. If the comparison was successful, the "Me" page will display "real-name authentication succeeded".
Get a "Shanghai QR code" from the app
Log into the app. Click the "+" in the top right corner of the home page, then click "International" to go to the foreigner services page.
Click "Shanghai QR Code" on the homepage to obtain the code.
